Thursday Thirteen #2: 13 sayings from the biking community
Filed in Thursday Thirteen
- Keep the shiny side up…
- …and the rubber side down.
I once had a guy following me with this huge grin on his face. As it turned out, he was stopping in the same place as me and told me I’d made his day. Before it was ripped off, I used to have a licence plate holder with “Keep the shiny side up” on it. He thought it was great. - There’s nothing wrong with the bike except for the big nut in the middle.
- How can you tell when a biker’s happy? Count the bugs between her teeth.
This was told to me by a good friend, who sadly passed away five years ago. I know he meant me. :) - Ride to live, live to ride.
- Ride to eat, eat to ride. :-P
Virago Owners’ club. - Loud pipes save lives
So they say. Mostly, I find them annoying. - Hey! ***hole! You’re driving a car, not a phone booth.
Sticker on a friend’s helmet. - If you can read this, the bitch fell off.
Seen on too many t-shirts. - If you can read this, the bitch just passed you.
Seen on t-shirts at a women’s motorcycling rally. ;) - Hair by…Helmet.
From a sticker on my helmet. - Time for a ride!
The solution for bad moods and boredom. - Good judment comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgment.
Something my husband likes to say.

Funny TT List! I have to say “Hair by…Helmet!” is my favorite! My kids always try to imitate the sideways hand “hello” that bikers give each other on the road. They think everyone should do that and be friendly!!!
Happy TT

I seem to remember one about larger women and mopeds being popular at the last Ride for Sight I was on… :D

I think this is my favorite list today. They were all so funny.
I especially like Hair by …. Helmet one. Classic. I don’t ride, but I’ve been thinking about getting my license for a while now. Only if I had someone to teach me how to ride. Love the list. All of them. And thank you once again for stopping by. Hope the rest of your week is great. Happy TT.

Love the “helmet hair” and the phone booth ones. People who talk on their phones while driving are a menace to everyone, but it must be worse for bikers. As a pedestrian (can’t drive due to a disability), I really feel the bikers on that one.

MissDJM: you’re welcome, and I’m glad I made you smile. I would suggest that first you take a safety class, and then ask the tutors who can teach you. If you’re near a chapter of Women on Wheels, they might have someone who can mentor you. I really hope that if you do go for it you come back and let me know :)
