Idri(j)a

New Idria was named for Old Idrija, which just so happens to be the town where my Mam grew up, in Slovenia. It’s famous for its mercury mines, and that’s why Idria got its name. We weren’t on the way there this time, but I thought it was pretty neat to find the historical marker by the roadside. :)
