Support your local mom and pop biker store
Filed in Biker Blogs and Sites, ElevensesLove of Motorcycling has an interesting and thought-provoking article about how the motorcycle world is being Wal-Mart-ified, i.e. turned into a series of box stores. He makes the point that if we don’t support these local places–and I’m as guilty as any of getting my parts online when I can–then we’ll lose the community surrounding them, the kind of community that does home cooking and greets you by name when you enter. (I used to love going to Zoom Cycles for that very reason: one of the guys there recognized me as a fellow Suzuki rider and always asked how things were going.)
Love of Motorcycling is, as the name suggests, a blog dedicated to the love of all things motorcycling. It’s a new blog, but it’s certainly gotten off to a good start. I’ll be watching.
