The other day we were “caught” by one of the Delta bridges that swings out of the way when a tall boat comes by. Those are always pretty neat, but I was more amused by the first vehicles through after it closed again. These bikers looked so incredibly peaceful and happy that I couldn’t help but smile alongside them.

It’s been over a month since I was on a motorcycle–even on the back. I miss it like crazy. In a short while I expect to be riding Don’s bike home, and then I’ll be reunited with my poor abandoned Beastie. I think this is actually the longest time I’ve been rideless since I first began learning how to ride in 1996. Bah humbug!

But these bikers…well, I’m pleased for them. They sum up what I feel like, and possibly even look like (beards notwithstanding) when I ride.

I keep telling myself that it’s just a matter of time.
