I feel much better now ;)
Filed in BlogI took the bike up to Weaverville today. Many more of the fires have been contained, and the smoke is hugely reduced. This is a great relief. The air doesn’t even smell of woodsmoke any more.
It was a lovely ride. The sun was shining and the views were available–layer upon layer of mountains and valleys. Everything is still so green! I don’t know how long it will be before things start to ice up around here but I think we should enjoy this while it lasts.
At the gas station the attendant let me fill up without paying first. The price of gas has fallen a good 20 cents. At the supermarket, they had Caesar Snapeas and 24-packs of Coca Cola again. Weaverville rocks! (I forgot the anti-mosquito spray so I’ll just have to go back again. Shucky darn. ;)
My brakes are wearing in with lots of squeaking. Given that it’s about ten days since I last rode, this was a wonderful ride throughout which if anyone had been tuning in on the psychic level they would have heard nothing but Wheee! Wheee! ;)
