I took this picture for Don, because he used to have one of these. I’m also pretty sure it was my ex’s first (only, probably) bike. It was in a row of classic bikes.

It’s true that they “don’t make them like that any more.” The street bike style, straight up and down as opposed to learning forward (sports bikes) and laid-back (cruisers) is pretty rare. They’re a lot more common and available in the UK. It’s a shame. They offer a middle ground that could attract many of those who want something sturdy and easy to work on with little chrome and few plastic bits.
