Hello, motorcycling world
Filed in BlogHello. My name is Linda Raven Moore, and today I fell off my bike.
Beastie is a 1400cc Suzuki Intruder that occasionally gets the better of me. Today was one such day: I start this blog with a bruised and sore body, a physical reminder that motorcycling can be harsh. But oh, isn’t it just worth every bump and bruise to have the wind in your hair and the bugs in your teeth?
I am a motorcyclist, freelance writer, motorcycle author, and webmaster. I have been riding (officially) since January 13, 1996 when I did the British equivalent of the MSF safety class. There is still a great deal to learn.
So, back to that fall I took. The bike wouldn’t start, so my husband and I tried to bump start it by using the “tow rope” method. I got it wrong, and fell over at around 20 mph. The mirror popped right off its stalk and the bike sustained, as is usual for this machine, a bent foot peg. I guess we should have used the “jumper cable” method.
I have started this blog, intended to complement and not replace Raven’s Roads, because I wanted a niche blog that was bikes, just bikes.
If today was anything to go by this journey, just like falling off a motorcycle, will not be boring. ;)
